Our complete range of general dentistry services includes regular examinations, digital X-rays, and routine cleanings. Below are details about the procedures we perform:

Children's Dentistry
Children's teeth begin forming before birth, and their first primary teeth (baby teeth) come in at about four months and continue until all 20 primary teeth appear, usually by about three years of age. Permanent teeth replace primary teeth from age six until about age 21.

Oral care should begin soon after your child's birth, cleaning gums after each feeding. Wipe gums with a clean, damp cloth or gauze pad. If you must give your baby a bottle at naptime or bedtime, fill it with plain water – not milk, formula or juice – to prevent nursing bottle mouth. Teeth brushing can begin as soon as your child's teeth appear. Parents are encouraged to brush their children's teeth daily with a soft wet toothbrush and a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste. When your children begin brushing their own teeth, supervise their brushing to ensure proper oral hygiene habits.

It is important for children to have their first dental checkup between the ages of six months and one year. Establishing a relationship with a family dentist early on promotes a lifetime of good dental health and proper oral hygiene. Dr. Lerida Lipumano is our on-staff children's specialist. She understands the unique dental needs of children and gives them the care and attention they deserve. Gum Disease & Treatment

Periodontal (gum) disease is the major cause of tooth loss in adults. Mainly caused by a build up of plaque, gum disease is usually painless in its early stages (gingivitis). Patients in the early and moderate stages of periodontal disease may exhibit few, if any, symptoms. Warning signs of periodontal disease may include red, swollen or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, permanent teeth that are loose or separating, and changes in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

If left untreated, gum infection damages the bone and supporting tissues of your teeth. Gums separate from the tooth, and the bone level deteriorates. If left untreated at this stage, your gums may recede farther and separate, posing a significant risk of your teeth becoming loose and falling out. Regular dental visits are essential to timely diagnosis and treatment of gum disease.

At Jang and Associates, we perform a thorough examination for periodontal disease during each routine checkup. Treatments, if necessary, will depend upon the type of periodontal disease detected and how far the condition has progressed. We have two periodontists on staff to address any gum disease concerns that may arise during your examination.

Proper brushing and flossing, and routine professional cleanings will help fight plaque accumulation and gum disease. In addition, our periodontist can help you keep your teeth for a lifetime through a variety of gum disease treatments. Contact Jang and Associates today for more information about the gum disease treatments we offer.

Implants
Tooth loss can have a far-reaching effect on your dental health and personal appearance. When you lose one or more teeth, your remaining teeth can drift out of position and lead to changes in your bite, loss of additional teeth, decay, and gum disease.

Dental implants are an effective method of replacing one tooth or several teeth. Each implant consists of a metal anchor that is inserted into the jawbone, and a protruding post, which is outfitted with an artificial tooth. Implants can also support a bridge, replace a partial denture or secure a fixed denture. The procedure requires surgery, in addition to sufficient bone and healthy gums.

The implant process may require up to a year to complete, but the end result is a strong, secure tooth that is virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth. To find out if dental implants are the right choice for you, please contact Jang and Associates for a consultation.

Dentures
Dentures are an excellent option for people who have lost all their teeth. Precisely designed and molded to fit one's mouth, full dentures slide over the gums and are held in place with the cheek and mouth muscles. They allow for comfortable chewing and keep the mouth and its surrounding features in proper alignment.

Jang and Associates has experienced laboratory technicians on site to make your dental process with dentures secure and immediate. To learn more about full dentures, please contact us today, and don't forget to ask about our 10 percent discount to senior citizens!
